Dr Esler is a Urological Surgeon with a special interest in the minimally invasive treatment of urinary
tract cancers, kidney stones and general urology.
Dr Esler undertook a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Queensland, graduating with honours. She undertook her residency and general surgery training in Brisbane and Central Queensland, before completing her Advanced Training in Urology in New South Wales.
She then completed fellowship training in Manchester, England, sub-specialising in the laparoscopic
treatment of urological cancers, particularly kidney and prostate cancer. She has completed post-
fellowship training in robotic surgery.
Dr Esler is the Director of Urology at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. She is actively
involved in teaching, supervising both Urology Registrars and International Medical Graduates. She
has an ongoing interest in research.
